Dear IEEG-Portal user:
We have just released a major update to the IEEG-Portal. The goal for this release was to significantly improve the flexibility of the web-console and to improve the usability of the Matlab Toolbox. Please make sure that you download the latest Matlab toolbox (ieeg-matlab-0.8.1.zip) from: https://code.google.com/p/braintrust/downloads/list
Major updates:
1) Updated IEEG-Portal Webconsole: The IEEG-Portal webconsole has been given a thorough update. The left side-bar has been removed and all modules are now contained within their tab-panels. Datasets and user-defined datasets are easier to find as they are now referred to by name instead of the snapshot-ID.
2) Completely Redesigned Matlab Toolbox: The Matlab toolbox has been redeveloped from the ground up to be more flexible and more intuitive. It is no longer necessary to initiate jobs in the web-console and all data is easily accessible from the Matlab command line. In addition, many more functions are available from Matlab such as: deriving new datasets, renaming datasets, moving annotations and improved support for annotation layers. Finally, installing the Matlab toolbox is now as simple as adding the Toolbox folder to the Matlab path.
3) Support for Local/Shared Caching of Data: It is now possible to configure a local persistent cache (using MongoDB) to improve data handling efficiency. This significantly improves data access speeds, especially for users with limited bandwidth. Configuring the cache is optional, but highly recommended. Instructions for installing and configuring MongoDB are available on the portal.
4) Improved Stability of the Portal: Portal stability has been significantly improved, allowing more users to access the portal simultaneously. In addition, we implemented better data-usage logging, allowing us to provide better support for our user base.
